Teacher Notes:

I knew… I KNEW I should not have opened the email. I had sent out friendly reminder emails earlier in the day, asking parents to pay special attention to their students’ grades because they were in danger of failing. I had hoped the email was a “thank you,” for letting me know. Nope. It was the student’s “side of the story.”

So I went to bed frustrated and with an upset stomach. I couldn’t wait to get to school the next day and pull a Paul Harvey. Someone was about to get the REST of the story.

It all turned out well in the end, a simple misunderstanding and the student is back on track with a good relationship between us. Still, as my good friend Mr. Copeland says, “Dude! Rookie mistake!”
