Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?
“If I stay there will be trouble and if I go there will be double!” Yep, I was singing the Clash the entire time I was making this strip. This was a conflict we actually had. Do we keep him home and let him attend class online the first year, or go off, occupy his dorm, and let him experience college life for the first time. It was a no brainer.
We head out mid-August with a caravan of three to four cars. On Friday afternoon, we get the boy loaded into his dorm at the University of Houston, then spend the night somewhere between Houston and Austin, and then on Saturday, load the daughter into her dorm for her junior year at Southwestern University in Georgetown. The reason this was all a no-brainer?
We come home to an EMPTY NEST!!! WHOOOOHOOOO! We love our kids but, GET OUT!
