You know they’re coming. You can hear their soft, stuttered, shuffle, and their ghastly moans. You know you can’t escape them, try as you might. You may as well accept it, you’re about to become the victim of the device-addicted, leaders of tomorrow!

This is a true story and we see it every day. It’s our kids’ struggle and it’s very real. I’ve seen young people throw complete temper tantrums when threatened with losing their phone. Some times, they’d rather take the detention than give it up. There are policies in place that allows teachers to take up the phones and then send them to the office where the parent has to pay $15 to get them back. To be honest, I never use it. My kids can’t afford that extra $15, most of them can’t even afford lunch… yes, I see the irony too. Still, I tell them that I won’t take them up if they’ just put them away and it works 99% of the time. Flies… honey… kindness… etc…

Parents, please talk to your kids about this before one of them runs into the wall 😉
